Each year roughly 60 foals are born on Assateague Island, Virginia. In an effort to manage the herd size, foals are sold at auction. A select group of foals are designated as 'buybacks' and are returned to Assateague Island to replenish the herd. These are the 2 ways to participate in this exciting auction! Proceeds from the auction help with veterinary care and general maintenance throughout the year.
